Let there be ducks

I love watching ducks on TV, but today I finally got to meet them in person. I was chatting to one duck, when he said "quack, quack, quack, quack, quack, quack, quack"! It was soooo funny.

Don't tell him I said so, but Dad doesn't speak duck very well. Everyday he quacks with me, but it's just gibberish. Unfortunately I keep encouraging him by smiling and laughing at how silly he sounds.

I also love turtles. Turtle has been my favourite toy almost since birth and goes with me everywhere on my stroller. I have a picture of another turtle on my wall. But, turtles just aren't very chatty...

I've been the star and co-author of this blog for many months, but today Mum and Dad gave me a great Christmas present... Creative control!

Let there be ducks :)

New tricks at 7 months

These days, I like to feed myself the bottle...

... and then sleep on my tummy or side. This has been good since I have a bad cold at the moment and it helps me breathe without coughing. But, with mobility I sometimes get stuck and scream out for Mum or Dad to help (e.g. faceplant with twisted arms, or legs stuck out through cot bars).

I also like to:

  • Sit up and play with my toys for 20-30mins without tumbling (Mum & Dad you can remove the safety pillows already!).
  • Turn and look at you when you say my name. (Usually...)
  • Immediately and quickly reach for interesting things around me with little regard for balance. (Lucky Dad holds me!)
  • Chat endlessly, particularly after my early morning feed. (Which mum loves, but trades off against sleep.)
  • Squeal when my face is wiped. (Especially when I have a runny nose.)
  • Just have long morning & afternoon sleeps with no midday nap. (
  • Cuddle Mum. (But only Mum.)
  • Sing with Dad. (Well it's kinda musical.)

Pimp my ride

We went shopping yesterday for some last minute groceries before the public holidays. Dad insisted on walking since parking would be "horendous", so we aimed to just get 3 days worth of food.

Something weird happens at the shops at this time of year. People seem pretty grumpy and there is a frenzied feeling about the place. Mum and Dad got caught up in it too, and were discussing things like the merits of buying both 1kg of bacon and a leg of ham.

For me, it was the chance I'd been waiting for ... "Don't worry Dad, just pimp my ride!".

Mandatory Santa Photo

About a month ago, Mum made me get a photo with this big red hairy dude. What's the go with that?

Water water everywhere....

Water water everywhere....but not a drop to drink!

Two weeks ago was my christening. It was a wonderful day. Lots of my favourite people made a huge effort to come and see me be drenched in water...but I didn't cry. I was brave. I knew what was coming. Dad and I had been practising in the bath, with him pouring cups of water over my head. Sounds like fun doesn't it?
The day was great. I particularly enjoyed all the cuddles I swindled at the pub afterwards :)

Today was my cousin Juliette's christening. It was lovely too. Here is a picture of her being baptised and one of me on my best behaviour! (We were in a church after all)

Dinner conversation

There's nothing like good conversation over fine food. In contrast to her parents, Elimena definitely prefers the conversation part.

Bah! Bah! Bah! Bah! Bah!!!

Yesterday was a big day. Both Mum and Dad were crazy busy at work this week, so Grandpa kindly offered to look after me. (Until 2008, my playcare is too busy looking after the other kids on Thursdays to fit me in.) He gives me lots of cuddles and I was so excited to have our day together that I didn't even sleep much in the afternoon.

Mum was at her work Christmas party, but Dad took me out in the evening. There were lots of other kids at this place, and then we went into a room with some friendly ladies.

They were chatting away, and then suddenly stabbed me in both legs with needles! I admit that I was shocked at first. I even lost it for about 10 seconds with a massive scream and a few tears.

But, as soon as Dad stood up and held me facing them I yelled "Bah! Bah! Bah! Bah! Bah!!!".

I'm pretty sure they got the message and definitely won't mess with me again for a while. Dad reckons I scared them off for at least 6 months...

Bairly Thair

I still don't get this hair stuff.

Everyone's hair is changing....

Mum's has gone blonde.
Dad has a forest of it growing on his face.
(I am so glad Movember is over. )

......and I still don't have any :(

Zaky

Don't listen to mum,
I wouldn't have fallen for
this!

Saturday 24th November

My parent's thought last Saturday was an important momentus day.

One parent said it was so, because it was my first federal election. The other said the day was important as it was my first sausage sizzle. Which parent was right?

I THINK it was momentus because I got to meet Luke Austin, my newest friend :)
