Last night, I had a spot of fun with the olds...
I was lying down on a pillow and drinking my bottle.
Meanwhile Mum & Dad were finishing off their dinners.
When I decided that what the room needed was a bit of excitement.
So I put my bottle down, got the eye contact of mum and dad, and then stood up - without holding on to anything for support. As soon as mum and dad began to clap, I knew I had their attention - so I lay back down and returned to my bottle. I was cool as a cucumber but mum and dad were very excited. They were startled at first of course but very proud that I had a new skill.
I was just checking that I can still get their attention when I want it!
Tonight Mum left early to attend parent teacher interviews at my play care centre. But, I'm sleeping soundly since I've been a such a good girl...
As far as they know anyway ;)
One thing you may not know about me yet is how much I love bubbles!
Mum and Dad first discovered this on our trip to Canberra. We all piled into the spa bath and had piles of bubbles up to my ears. It was fantastic and we all laughed our heads of for about half an hour as we blew, clapped and played with the bubbles.
Well a couple of weeks ago, we went to play at Joshy's house and Auntie Berlinda had bought some bubbles to blow. I think the pictures below speak for themselves as to whether Josh and I thought this was a good idea...
PS: They are Dad's legs and Mum's hands in the photo, and blank faded pink is not my natural eye colour.
Back in March, Mum & Dad took me to Canberra so they could go to Karie & Dave's wedding. Nanny Paul came along too to keep me company while the parentals were out partying.
While down there, we enjoyed some time in the sun near Old Parliament House.
We didn't have a camera with us, so as you can see from the photos, it took me a while to work out what Dad was doing with his BlackBerry.
Occasionally Mum & Dad leave the front door open, and I always take the chance to go exploring. (Who wants to be cooped up inside all day?)
Dad was sooo surprised the first time he left the door open for me, I crawled straight out and up the stairs to the gate. (He didn't realise I could do that... hee.. hee...)
It's Friday afternoon, daylight saving has just finished, and you get a call from your friends saying "How about a picnic in the park for dinner?". Sounds like a great idea, particularly when your first summer has been too wet for much picnic action.
Next thing you know, you're enjoying warm conversation and food during a cold, dark evening picnic. That's the sort of crazy time you have with great friends like Chantelle, Jason, Griet & Harvey!!
Sensibly, we headed back to their place for a nice warm bath and a sleep while the parents kicked on.
Ever since I was a little girl, Mum and I regularly have met with her mother's group. Lucky for me, they were also a great group of kids. We've been friends our whole life and you really do form a special bond when you've grown up together.
A couple of months ago (March 8), we brought along the Dad's for a picnic lunch.
Sorry for the delay in posting this, but Mum & Dad have been really busy so computer access has been difficult.
